Barrow Foodbank also aims to raise awareness about the issue of food poverty and work towards long-term solutions to eradicate hunger in the community.

Services Offered:

Emergency Food Assistance: The Barrow Foodbank offers assistance to individuals and families in dire situations by providing them with nutritionally balanced food packages that can sustain them for a period of three days. These food packages are made possible through the kind contributions of the community, who generously donate canned and dehydrated food items.

Additional Distribution Centers: Due to the growing demand for their services, The Foodbank has opened two additional distribution centers in Millom and Ulverston. This expansion allows them to extend their support to some areas of the Copeland and South Lakes Districts, ensuring that more people in need receive the assistance they require.

Referral System: The Foodbank operates through a voucher referral system. Referral agencies issue vouchers to individuals in crisis, enabling them to receive emergency food assistance from the foodbank.
