At Bristol North West Foodbank, our vision is to create a community where no one goes hungry or feels alone during times of crisis. We strive to offer immediate assistance while fostering a supportive environment that empowers individuals to regain stability and resilience.
Mission:
Our mission is to provide emergency food parcels and a variety of support services to individuals and families facing food insecurity and crisis situations. We aim to address not only the immediate need for sustenance but also the underlying issues that contribute to food poverty. By collaborating with local care agencies and offering comprehensive programs, we seek to uplift and restore dignity to those we serve.
Services Offered:
Emergency Food Assistance:
Bristol North West Foodbank provides nutritionally balanced tinned and dried food through their food parcels. These food parcels are offered to individuals and families who present a voucher obtained through local care agencies. Our trained volunteers ensure a warm welcome and respectful assistance to all visitors at our outlets.
Social Justice Hub:
The Social Justice Hub, located in Avonmouth, serves as the central hub for Bristol North West Food bank. It houses our office, warehouse, and various support programs. These programs include Homebank, Free Advice Appointments, Cookery Courses, Dancercise Classes, and Support for the Homeless. The Hub acts as a community center where individuals can find support, advice, and a welcoming space to socialize.
Practical Help and Support:
In addition to emergency food, Bristol North West Foodbank offers practical help and support services. These services include washing facilities, debt appointments, support with benefits and housing, and groups for parents, carers, and children. We aim to address the diverse needs of individuals and families in crisis, helping them overcome challenges and regain stability.
Woodworking Workshop:
To tackle social isolation and promote community engagement, Bristol North West Foodbank will soon open a Woodworking Workshop. This initiative aims to provide a creative and inclusive space for individuals to learn new skills, build relationships, and combat loneliness.
Online Food Donation Shop:
Bristol North West Food bank operates an Online Food Donation Shop. Through this platform, individuals can contribute to our cause by purchasing essential items that directly support those in need. The website also shares our current needs for donations, ensuring that our services remain sustainable and impactful.
