Description

Mental Health Association of Alameda County

Almost 24,000 people and families in Alameda, San Mateo, and Marin counties get support, education, and mental health services through MHAAC. The Board of Directors and staff are trauma-informed and dedicated about treating mental health patients.

MHAAC’s peer support programmes allow families to be seen and heard by someone who cares. MHAAC helps family carers and advocates for patients. The group helps families submit complaints, advocates patients at hearings, and connects families with peers who have dealt with children’s behavioural or emotional issues. African American families may also attend MHAAC programmes on mental health and drug misuse.

MHAAC thinks mental health patients deserve the greatest life. The nonprofit offers free mental health carer education, peer support, and patient advocacy. MHAAC is an autonomous local affiliate of Mental Health America and Mental Health California.

Through education, support, advocacy, and shared experience, MHAAC helps adults and kids with mental health issues and their families live their best lives. Staff members are highly trained, empathetic, and devoted to helping clients and families heal. MHAAC’s goal is to eliminate stigma and assist mental health patients and their families with the resources they need.
